New Beginnings at the Autumn Equinox + Rosh Hashanah

September 22nd always feels like a doorway. This year, as I know you will agree,  it’s extra potent — the Autumn Equinox and Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year, arrive on the very same day.  I love when the game of calendar roulette is a win, and I feel the universe wink at all of us as an important message is shared.    You see, nature reminds us that balance is everything: day and night hold equal space, and just like that, we are invited into a season of slowing down, nourishing, and re-centering.  Finally.

For me, this time has always meant clearing space for new beginnings — not by pushing harder, but by leaning into rituals that soften, ground, and remind me of the sacred in the everyday. I like to review on where in my life I can honor where I have found myself today, and the growth that took place since last year.

Mindful Symbols + Sacred Style

On Rosh Hashanah, the themes are reflection, sweetness, and renewal. I love anchoring those ideas through what I wear. My Star of David Six-Pointed Cubic Zirconia Earrings from Bande de Vagabonds feel like more than jewelry. Their delicate shimmer is a symbol of faith, resilience, and beauty — a way to carry the holiday close to me. Accessories, after all, are micro-confidence builders. And when you choose ones with meaning, they become talismans for the life you’re creating.

Resetting the Home Atmosphere

The start of a new season is the perfect moment to shift the energy in your home. I swap out summer’s light citrus scents for the warm embrace of Urban Rituelle’s Equilibrium  Soy Candles.  A beautiful slow transition into the new season, keeping a much needed uplifting freshness with a perfectly balanced scent profile.  Not too feminine, and not too masculine, I love how easily the scent modernizes the ambiance of my living space. These hand-poured candles don’t just scent a room — their blend of mandarin, basil and lime essential oils brings balance to the nervous system, making them the ultimate mindful home companion.

I like to anchor specific tasks that need to get done to lighting my  natural soy candles in the house.  For example, I anchor my writing to the lighting of a candle, and right now as I type, the flame and the scent have me completely focused on the process, with a lovely grounded feeling.   And yes, you know they also make the most thoughtful host gift for this holiday season, with their natural wood topper elevating their value with style.

Nourishing With Autumn’s Palette

Equinox eating, for me, is about listening to the wisdom of the seasons. In the world’s Blue Zones — places where people live the longest, healthiest lives — food is simple, plant-forward, and deeply seasonal.

Fall whispers in shades of orange and gold, and my kitchen reflects it.

  • Pumpkin soup, silky and spiced, rich in beta-carotene to support glowing skin and a strong immune system.

  • Lentil soup with carrots, cumin, and garlic, a protein-packed bowl that comforts without weighing you down.

  • Roasted acorn or butternut squash, drizzled with olive oil and herbs de Provence — the kind of simple ritual that feels luxurious in its nourishment.

These soups are my antidote to heavy dinners. A warm bowl at night is grounding, easy to digest, and sets the stage for a restorative sleep.  And don't forget to include natures pharmacy of fresh herbs like Rosemary, which reduces inflammation, strengthens the immune system, improve mood and cognitive function, and so much more.   What are your favorite mindful fall soups and meals?

Libra Season Style

As we step into Libra season, it’s not just the air that feels more balanced — it’s the energy of the zodiac itself. Libras are ruled by Venus, planet of beauty and harmony, which is why our Organic Project Libra Zodiac T-Shirt feels so special. It’s soft, organic cotton that’s kind to the planet, with a playful nod to our little Libras (who, by the way, often have a natural charm and a deep love of fairness). Dressing them in conscious, expressive pieces feels like setting them up for their own season of balance. I just love air signs, this libra-zodiac shirt and have never shy away from diving deep into the zodiac.   What's your sign?

A Season of Balance + Renewal

The Autumn Equinox and Rosh Hashanah arriving together reminds us that every ending is also a beginning. Whether you’re lighting candles for balance, simmering soups for health, or adorning yourself with meaningful jewelry, these rituals are more than gestures — they’re anchors for living with intention.
